welcome to marwell’s zany zebras

For 10 weeks from Saturday 16 July, a zeal of 150 Marwell’s Zany Zebras galloped through the streets of Southampton creating a fun, family friendly trail for all to enjoy.

A trail of replica miniature Marwell’s Zany Zebras were hidden within Marwell Zoo itself as well and guests were greeted by Gulliver, our GIANT zebra.

All 150 zebra sculptures plus the 47 miniatures will be on display for one last time at our ‘Zebratastic Goodbye event’ before they go off to their new homes. Our ‘Zebratastic Goodbye event’ is taking place at The Ageas Bowl between Friday 14 – Monday 17 October. Book your tickets now!

All 47 large sculpture plus 1 small zebra will be sold at auction on Tuesday 18 October to raise funds to conserve endangered Grevy’s zebras and other wildlife, and to support communities living in the arid rangelands of northern Kenya.  If you are interested in bidding on one of the zebras or attending the charity fundraising auction please check out the auction page for more information.

All the other small sculptures will be returned to the schools and youth groups that created them.

Thank you to all the businesses, artists, schools and youth groups that have helped Marwell Wildlife create this very special summer bringing smiles to hundreds of thousands of visitors and residents alike. THANK YOU!
